Place Description:
Gorgeous beach, basically in-city, but feels like you've driven a couple hours out of town.
The beach is inside Point Defiance Park, which is a beautiful place on its own, with gardens, a zoo/aquarium, walking trails through the forest and many views out over Puget Sound.
Individual View Descriptions:picnic_tables, facing NE:
- zoom to see the ferry terminal on the other side (Vashon Island)
picnic_tables, facing SE:
- zoom to see a really pretty picture of Mt. Rainier in the distance and the ferry terminal (to Vashon Island) and Anthony's Restaurant in the foreground.
-
- What is the building in the left zoom? It's out on a little peninsula by itself.
-
- Also, does this walkway go all the way to Anthony's? And beyond?
picnic_tables, facing SW:
- Kayak rentals. On the day we were here (hot and sunny) they seemed to be quite popular.
picnic_tables, facing NW:
- zoom - tons of driftwood all the way down the beach
