Place Description:
This little park has some of the most awesome views of The City from "the ground". The photos here do not do the real views justice. It's gorgeous, especially in the summer months like this.
Ahead and down below is an older, little-known playground and grass field.
Individual View Descriptions:CenterViewPoint, facing SE:
- Zoom in to see downtown Seattle, which is just 5 min from here.
-
- The Space Needle is prominent, and to the right of the base of the needle (almost to the green leaves) you can see the Pacific Science Center's white arches.
CenterViewPoint, facing South:
- Zoom [left-center] to see Elliott Bay and Harbor Island in the distance.
-
- Zoom [down] to see the park's plaque (sorry, the photo's not great).
CenterViewPoint, facing SW:
- That's Alki Point toward the left, in the distance. You can zoom in to see it in more detail.
-
GrassField, facing North:
- It's a long way up there to the viewing area!
-
HighlandDrive1, facing SE:
- Some of the best views of downtown Seattle are right here in this little park. (see zoom)
-
HighlandDrive3, facing East:
- Yes, some days you can even sunbathe in Seattle.... :-)
-
PlayArea1, facing SW:
- Pretty nice climbing structure. But it's older wood, with splinters. Be careful.
-
WestStairs2, facing NE:
- As you can see, there's quite a slope here!
WestStairs4, facing North:
- On a hot summer day, this can be a strenuous trek up to the top! (Yes, this is written from experience)
-
WestStairs4, facing SE:
- Outstanding view of downtown from on the playground structure. Zoom in to see a peek.
